Could also have a split pipe after the sensor. So the car is taken in more air than what it's reading, making run sh!te.

Check all your pipe are fine and if the are it's the MAF sensor

so around how much are these maf sensors? if you have any idea, as i've been advised not to buy off of ebay i'm just wondering how much it'll set me back if that is the problem? yeah i'll check all the other bits..

Well if it is running better with it disconnected then it has failed, see if you have a Bosch agent nearby, they do factory recon units which could be cheaper.

are they not exchange units like the mk4 items?? i only paid about £87 for the mk4 one.... an they had my old one

i've bought some cleaner, so i've taken it out n sprayed it etc, just waiting for it to dry and put it back in, hopefully that'll do the trick, if not its going to have to be a new sensor..

Just replaced mine 5 minutes ago lol. got one from a scrappy on the off chance. seems fine so far. intend to use this as a temporary measure until i can afford the new one!

Cheap as chips down the scrappy, probably get the whole airbox, pipe and sensor for under 50 notes

Just put mine back in etc and its made no difference after cleaning spray. looks like i'm going down the scrappy too.. how much did it set u back mate?
