employed versus retired
« on: 30 May 2012, 12:57 »
I heard somewhere that being retired as opposed to employed actually increases your premium...this can't be right.

So I did a quick test on Elephant...and true enough...my premium went from £231 as an employee to £290 if I was retired.

Any idea of the criteria / logic / reasoning behind this...?

Thank you,
Billy

was on the news, a man was made redundant his renewal price went up £600 he too did a test online said he was working and then again wasn't working. the news did some investigating and got told its because Unemployed people have more time on there hands to drive and more prone to crash i expect this is the same, all thos old people going out boy racing Eh!

made me think tho if that moment in time the guy never had a job and a few months down the line he got a job should he ring his insurance and tell them he has a job now lol. so strange.
