Reverse Lights not coming on? Mk2 16v

Hi guys

I recently noticed that my reverse lights are not comign on when i put the car in reverse. I have changed the bulbs and its still the case. Is there a switch or somethign somewhere? ive checked the fuse box for a fuse too and all seems to be fine...

Firstly did you get your water pump?
There is a switch on the gear stick somewhere check you got voltages from that switch if not new switch I guess?
Looks like this as you are challenged when it comes to parts 
First is Mk2 one which fits your year second is MK1 till 83?

Looking at your gearbox you will see 2 wires with spade connectors plugged into the reverse switch,to test if it's the switch at fault unplug the two wires and touch them together,your reverse lights should light up and then ull know it's the switch at fault

 clipperjay  - i have finally got hold of one managed to get a brand new mk1 one from germany which was good!  just gotta install it hoping to over the weekend! thanks for the link parts im planning to check it out over the weekend and get that fixed up thanks!
