Wasp problem
« on: 28 May 2012, 20:05 »
Just some advice, again!

Basically the house next door looks like it was let out, but the old tenants moved out rather quickly before christmas so it has been vacant all the time. Upon getting home today I noticed in the front window loads of wasps of the property in question! It looks like there a wasp nest/infestation and they may be entering via the air brick. However I am concerned due to having a 21month year old daughter, with it being indoors and do not wish for it to spread into my property.

Since its not my property I am unsure what to do, I don't know who's letting, think I've only seen the land lord once when he threw a bunch of things in the alley and set fire to a bunch of rubbish in the garden and pissed off.

I'm sure Environmental Agency don't deal with domestic infestations, so I guess I have to ring the council? If so would this also be classed as an emergency?

I'd get onto the council and get them to sort it.

If they can't help they will give you the numbers of who can...I'm sure!

Get on to the letting agents? Sign outside?

As they would/might need access to the house.

Piece of wood and a brick over the air brick, will sort them out in a few days, the nest will be right behind it, do it at night while they're asleep... or call the council
