Talk to me about using a 9a block and KR head?

Just want some info about two KR blocks one being 2.0 and other 1.8 any pictures of both?  :laugh:
Also 020 and 02A gear boxes guessing one is hydro clutch and the other cable?

The cams are much better on the KR so they are used on the 9A head, theres no need to change the whole head for a KR one. The 9A has restrictive cams due to emissions etc. A friend of mine had this setup in his Mk2 and I should see him today actually at the local meet so I'll ask him about it if you like. His was RR'd at 159bhp, up from 135bhp standard.  :cool:

Nope.

Major flywheel/clutch differences, 02A can be hydro or cable.  Also one's cable-actuated and t'other's rod actuated.

020 is also mostly constructed from cheese.

Front mounts and starters are quite different, too.

False alarm I wanted to pick up a spare gear box for my mates 16ver but he didnt want the hasstle of conversion to hydro the gear box 02a was in good nick so was the block a really nice lad from North London spent half the day chatting and stripping the Kr block shame it only had 130K and was in pretty good condition aswell!
He stuck a VR6 in his corrado looking sharp and will eat most things on the road!
I went ill prepared wish I had the sprinter the block& box went to scrap in the end  :sad:
