Leaking Sunroof? 02' Jetta
« on: 26 May 2012, 00:21 »
I have an 02' Jetta that gets water on the floor in the rear, there are two drain tubes for the sunroof that go down the front pillars but what about the rear? The pillar between the doors has no drain tube I took the panels off, I can't see into the back of the sunroof so I don't even know if there are drain tubes in the rear of the sunroof?? Does anyone know what would cause water accumulation on the floors in the back?

~Thanks

Rear drain tubes usually run down to the rear arches. Your front foowells my seem dry, but lift the carpet as it may be a different story. Usually leaks from the front accumulate in the rear footwells if you look at the grooves in the floorpan.

Really? I can see both tubes running out above the wire harness bundles in the door wells (near the hinge). Do the hoses rot out in the front pillars?

Take up the carpet at the front and pour some water down the sunroof channels to make sure it comes out. The drain tubes push into the bungs you can see, on mine a while ago, the tube had actually become seperated so was pouring straight into my passanger footwell, but accumulating in the tear making me think it was a door seal for a while. It could be lots of other things as well though.  Do a search and you should come accross this next time. http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=70858.0
