Ok, when i bought Golf GTI car (thats what my 2 and half year old boy calls it, the 2011 Fiat Punto is the poo car) It sounded like the exhaust was blowing from somewhere.

Had it up on the ramps and couldn't find a leak in the system but from cat on it wasnt really check. When driving along with the foot down it sounds a bit like an old air cooled, fast changes causes hesitance for half a second.

any ideas guys???

Is it like a ticking sound? possible crack in the mani or gasket blown

Get some one to block the tailpipe whislt its runnin ,it may become more apparant

ummm, we did that, but as said, didnt check any further than the CAT. Been spoilt with company cars for a few years, lots my nack lol!!

Would you not think its manifold if its not a ticky blow?

Normaly a ticky sound if the blow is close to an exhaust port ie mani gasket,could be on the downpipe flange , you can use a little strip of paper to find a blow as it will flap in the wind so to speak

check the weld on the bend where the heat shield is attached just before the flange that bolts to the cat. could be there. seen a few like this and its normaly there on the ones iv seen. mine is even blowing there now
