Are be very surprised if anyone got the option to take the course if it was your first offence, i think the awareness course is for repeat offenders...

Got caught by a fixed camera doing 38 in a 30 and got the fixed penalty notice with know option of course...it was back when I was 17 on a moped and yes that was going down a slight hill 

It's clean now and staying that way!

I got done 36 in a 30 and was offered the course in the letter. Just had to confirm I wanted toe course and not the points.

P1ssed off that I got caught at 36 in a country lane speeding up to the national speed limit (camera guy was next to the national limit sign) 

The course was an eye opener.

The course can be offered after more than just one instance of speeding but for you to be offered it more than once there has to be at least 3 years since the last course or conviction.

86 in a 60, no option for the course but 3 points and £60 fine, will be able to remove them next year though.

I don't think all policing areas offer the course, Devon and Cornwall don't but Somerset does.

Yeah when I got mine through Avon and Somerset, I had to travel up to the nearest place that did it which was Taunton.

I was caught along the Yeovil to Dorchester road, my own fault But I've leant my lesson. Been a good boy since.
