Toddler car seat in a Golf Mk2

Hey guys,

Have any of you fitted a toddler car seat (9 months to 4 years - Stage 1) in the back of your Mk2 Golf?

If so, then what brand and make was it? I cannot find any car compatibility lists that go further back then Golf Mk IV.

Just go for a Maxi Cosy don't be paying for any Iso Fix stuff as the MK2 doesn't have any unless you plan on upgrading?

The missus has a Britax Prince in the back of her 3 door MK2.

I've got a Britax Evolva 1-2-3, which was one of the few that would fit the Corrado (the rear belts come out of the rear doorcards) - but it also fits the Golf fine. I find the Evolva a lot easier to install and use than the Prince, but it cost £100. Still, it covers stages 1, 2 and 3, so you could make it last a while.

Was only 1 that would fit when our first was born, and that was £140, and that was 10 years ago

We've had two Recaro child seats in the back of our Corrado.  I'm sure they'd fit in the back of a GOlf2 - they fit in our G3 no worries and that's much the same.

MAxi Cosy, easy to fit and sits high enough so they can see out of the windows, they don't list the MK2 on the compatability charts for modern car seat but as said above no need for Iso fix
