Hi mate it might be a good idea to let everyone know what engine you got and which mk4 head youve used ,also try the search button there is masses of info on there

im no expert, but if your not getting a oil temp , it could be the oil temp sender, and that could maybe also cause the flashing light if the sensor isnt working, have you got vagcom? may show up a fault code, and give you more info.

This thread from not so long ago might help.

Forget your mods - it is low oil pressure by the look of it. The OP solved it by using 20 -50w oil.

I would probably swap out the sensor before changing oil grade personally - but that's because I once repaired the bottom end of a Cortina Pinto engine because the oil light was flickering on and I thought it was because the big ends/main bearings were gone. I can't remember what the crank regrind and bearing shells cost me but I do remember the pressure sensor (which was the actual problem) was £8...

Which oil pressure sensors have you got in the head. The ones for the mk4 or the mk3 head?
