I came across this today....

The writeup says...

This kit allows you to relocate the diverter valve from the hot side of the turbo to the cold side of the intercooler on the VW Golf, Jetta 1.8T engines of 150 - 180 HP. For the 210/225 versions of this engine please see FMDV225RLK.

By relocating the valve in this way there are two benefits. Firstly, due to operating in lower temperatures the longevity of the valve is increased. Secondly, after relocation, the air that is recirculated back into the intake tract to the turbo will be cooler. Cooler air has a greater density. The greater the density of the charge mix in the cylinder the more power generated on combustion.

Also came across this...

The Splitter is a truly remarkable valve that gives a combination of blow off and recirculation valve operation all at the same time and has been specifically designed for the many turbo engined applications that operate metered airflow management systems.

This means you get all the noise of the blow off valve whilst retaining the compatibility with the recirculation requirements of the engine management system. As a bonus we also offer the ability to convert the valve to recirculation only mode for those times when stealth running is required

My question is, does these do what they say? Reaosn i ask is because A i havent seen anyone that has done this mod with the turbo pipe & as far as I was aware the only DV's worth using are the 007 or 008

The theory behind the relocation sounds good but I can't see it making much difference in the real world
