« on: 22 May 2012, 21:17 »
Just a heads up really. 4 litre bottle of oil for the mk2 from my local home bargains £9.99

I only do about 1500 miles a year so its ideal for a 12 month service

It states vw 505 00 approved on the back too

Cost me about £7.50 inc vat for 5 litres of semi but then I work in a factors

The last bottle of Magnatec 10/40 semi I had was free (bottle had a pinhole, so written off)

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Tbh Sinta Silver is only about £18 from the stealer anyway. Why use anything else.  :nerd:

If it meets the spec, wheres the problem in a cheaper brand?

Quite true.... BUT as a comparison, Supermarket fuel meets  required specification, but can create running problems on all sorts of vehicles, petrol or diesel... and I certainly wouldn't put it in my Golf.
Anyone remember the Mayo problems with Duckhams Oil? regarded as one of the best, but was responsible for killing off many engines long before there time
Spec or not, you get what you pay for, be careful what you put in!
