Double Din
« on: 20 May 2012, 20:22 »
Not sure if this has been done before but I have never seen it. This week my Missus and kids bought me a Double Din CD/DVD/Sat Nav unit I had been looking for for a while. Spent the best part of two days putting this into the car. Would not reccomend doing this as it caused me to swear quite a bit and took a load of effort to fit as one problem occured after another. Still all worth it in the end I think. Now I get the Sat Nav on the dash rather than using my phone while I drive and get the bonus of hands free built in as well    Anyway heres some pics I just took.....just got one last job to do which is to build a box for the Air Con switch and the Rear Heated Screen switch which I have routed the wiring to the centre console ready for but the pub was calling this afternoon so that will have to wait

Fits well but I have still yet to make the new mask for it...just ran out of time over the weekend. Will be done soon.

Good idea. Looks abit out of place though.
But as you say once you have made the surround will look better.

Different, but you can get the slide out ones that do the same thing and look tidy, plus there not a pikey magnet that way

Sorry but that doesn't look right at all. It just looks like it's hanging from the face of the dash and overhanging the switchgear pus the fact it has massive slots down each side of it.

The slots down the side will be gone when I get the chance to make a new mask. I have the materials but just need the time. Will look loads better then but I now have another idea running through my head  :smug:
