screen washer...

Hi again, well after a search i cant find any info, so thought id ask, when i pull the stalk back on the washers the front and rear wipers start working, but no screen wash comes out, if i disconnect the plug on the motor itself and use a power prob on the motor i can power it up so it can squirt the water and reverse it to do the rear screen, however if i plug it back in and power it up, only the wipers work again, just wondering if i have the correct stalk or could be some dodgy wiring at all??

sounds like the wrong stalks have been fitted....

i will get a picture mate, im sure it is wrong now tho, its got slidey switches on it that dont do anything too.....

There is about 10 types of wiper stalks... so more info on the car would help too...

Its a G-reg (1989) golf gti 1.8 8v with hazard switch on the dash

Yep wrong stalks and wrong steering cowl cover...

Yeah kinda guessed about the covers lol, so what stalks should it actually be buddy as there's a few on eBay at the moment

Not sure if I have a picture of the MFA one you need...

It's a Big Boss one from a CE1 car - only lasted for 2 years so you have to be very careful you get the correct one...

ah right ok, well i got a couple stalks with the car, but non have the mfa on the wipers but im sure the indecator ones are the ones i need after a little look, going to bid on one on ebay later as long it doesnt go up to much lol, quite pricey these stalks aint they lol
