Hi all,

I bought an alienware pc from FATCAT IT who sell a lot on ebay here's the store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Fatcat-iT which is superb, only issue was that the item arrived minus the 19-in-1 card reader that was advertised in the pc'd spec.

I emailed the sellers shop twice asking where to find the card reader but got no response, I then called then and talked to the owner, he said that he would "cut a hole" in an alienware plasic panel and I could place an old card reader in the slot behind it that I had, clearly I dont want this and want the genuine alienware item that I had paid for but I asked for a genuine alineware item to replcae the missing one he started shouting theat they are very hard to come by and that he would not be able to get me one and that a "homemade" version is what I'd be getting.....

Where shall I go from here as I like the PC but want what I have paid for?

Regards
Doc

Ask for a partial refund or it's going back  Buy another card reader else where, job done.

Otherwise, get a full refund and get a machine else where

How much was it and what was the spec?

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

sorry bad day

you can insist it has a card reader with alienware written on it but to be honest it's just a standard one with a badge on it. if having a built in card reader is a deal breaker then i'd send it back and get a refund. he doesn't have another one so you'd have to look elsewhere.

Its not so much a deal breaker but it's a pain in the ass using an external one when I've paid for the built in one

  • I'm better than you today.
If you have paid for one, and was clearly expecting one (product description) then the seller is in breach of the Sale of Good Act (1979) because it is not "as described"

You are perfectly within your rights to reject the item and get a full refund.  If they don't play ball, just take them to the Small Claims Court.

Jonathan.

I'm going down this route, thanks.
