Should i get this proffessionally checked and set or should i undo the two strut bolt and pull them to full negative?  :evil:

why do you want it checking?  Have you lowered the car ?  Or is it just eating tyres

Either way I would suggest getting it done proffesionally

Only just bought it about a month ago, eaten through a set of new tyres, to the cords on the inside  :shocked: But rest of tyre is fine, suggests toe out but would camber cause such extreme wear?

get it done, but, make sure it's a good place. I recently had both cv boots burned through and the steering rack broken by an idiot in a local place. :angry: made them fix it free. bite the bullet and go to a vw dealer if needs be.

Am I right in thinking you are based in alford lincs?  If so there is a garage in horncastle I think that does camber, let me know if I have your location right, and i will find out the name of the garage for you

Wotto, unfortunatley i don't, i live in Congleton near Macclesfield... i know a place near me but i've heard bad things about them. Don't know of anywhere else  :undecided:

Alan, you're probably right... i'll get it done propperly, how much should it cost?

I got mine done at deamon tweaks in macclesfield and it cost me £75 including fitting 2 front tyres (fitting and ballancing only tho)

Get it done at a down to earth tyre place or garage, especially the type that does stock car style or banger racing as they know all about camber. :wink: but tell em to be careful with your alloys! Know of a few places.

You could try it yourself though. You can get a camber guage or make one yourself! or guess like I did. Seem to have pretty even tyre wear. Your toe-in/tracking might just need adjusting though  :laugh:

I would recomended getting it done by a garage that knows what they are doing and not doing it yourself.

Got a set of eagle F1's fitted down at ATS today, looked at the tracking and it was so far out it wasn't correctable by tracking alone (15.5mm out).  :undecided:

So its a trip down to Bob's (vintage workshop) to borrow the camber gauges, get that set myself(what should that be, 0.5 degree negative?) and head back down to ATS to get the tracking set  :rolleyes: What a faf! This is what they have told me to do anyway.

P.S.

Asked how much these tyres would have been from them, £130 each... got them from mytyres.co.uk for around £85 each (205/40/17)  :laugh:
