Airbox modification
« on: 17 May 2012, 21:29 »
Hi
Has anyone opened up the outlet side of the airbox on a 16v ? I smoothed mine out a bit and fitted the cone on the inlet side which I think has helped it run smoother and the economy on the trip computer has risen from average of 30 'ish to 33' ish on my daily commute to the office.

I don't understand what you did.

Do you mean you ported where the airbox connects to the intake pipe? Then put a cone filter where?

From what I can make out from your post you did something similar to what I did. I chopped out the original intake opening and bonded a trumpet in its place. The intake opening is now about 3" leading to my cold air ducting out to the wing.
