Engine Flush - Kind of urgent.
« on: 08 June 2005, 11:03 »
Right i am going to do a quick overhaul on the engine today get it cleaned out and ready for a lot of summer running around to various places.

Thing is i am not sure about whether to flush the engine or not. It was rebuilt about 56k ago and i gave it a oil change about 2k ago. I have heard that sometimes there are a lot of problems with the engine when the flush will take away deposits that are actually keeping the engine from springing a leak (yes i know that the engine will be shot if thats true)

I just want to know best things to use, I.E. ATF, or if there is something different out there, and a cheapo oil to bang in whilst it is cleaning out after the flush (no one suggest magnatec to me as its a pile of sh!t and cannot really be classed as an oil IMO)

I have the final Oil to go in, just need to pop to a VAG dealer and pick up a non return oil filter then see if i can pick up some nice engine flush for me to use.

Any  help will be welcomed.
