GiT Slippery/Skiddy...?

The standard rubbers on my GiT were Bridgestones (on 18" Shadow Monza's), but I replaced these last November to Hankook winter tyres and haven't yet changed back. During the 2010 winter (with all that snow) my GiT struggled with the standard tyres almost everywhere. The winter tyres fitted in Nov 2011 are mean't to have much more grip but are still low profiles etc. However, I have found that these are still very slippery in moist conditions even with the traction control on. I thought that these were mean't to improve traction in 'wintery' conditions, but why have these almost have no effect...?

I fitted my car with a set of Continental winter contact TS830p and these were brilliant last winter in all the snow, during this past winter which was wetter than previously they have also performed well.

Last week I returned the car to the original Bridgestone Potenzas which have only done 14,000 miles in the almost 3 years of ownership, I like these tyres personally though I know many don't.

Anyone tried AD08's on their GTi?

Fan of the RE050A myself, great all rounder and had them on a few different marques too. Always found the F1's a little softer in the sidewall by comparison which takes away the initial eagerness to turn in.

Exactly Snoops, even with the winters still on and traction control on, it is still not very grippy at all even when its damp........how odd !
In a weird twist the standard Bridgies feel more grippy (only during the current season conditions and not during the winter)
