And a cheeky set of new wheels... Need to get extended rear studs as the original ones are a little short.

Still got a bit to do, I can't decide on the roof colour, I'm torn between black or white, suggestions welcome!

It looks better than I thought it would, good effort.
I personally would leave the roof white, I think black would clash with the light blue.

You could always paint brush the pic on your computer to get an idea though

Can you get some close ups!? I'm really considering doing this to mine. What needs doing with regard to the prep? Will it cover/fill scuffs and stuff? Does look pretty decent from afar though.

Finish has a slight orange peel, although you can flat it down for a mirror finish. Personally I'm not gonna bother for now as it looks fine and its transformed the van.

Before you paint, it has to be flat, I first used a DA with 80 grit on the bottom half as it had been brush painted before, then filled any dents etc. Then 320 on the DA everywhere. Then panel wipe then roll the paint on. No need for primer! Full instructions are on the link I put on the first page...

Its not a quick job, I reckon I have put in at least 25 hours so far, and thats mostly with a high power air DA, I still have the drivers door and front to do, although these bits have nearly all been 80'd and filled so its nearly there. I'm hoping to have it all finished tomorrow.....

Looks spot on!  Yeah I would have expected a bit of orange peel. I would have said I don't have a DA for the prep so it'd take forever, but when your only paying £35 for paint, u could afford to buy one!

I do have a rotary and although I'd still class myself a novice, I kinda know what I'm doing now so I reckon I could wet sand and flat the orange peel back to a reasonable standard.

How much paint did you need for the whole van? And was the roller and tray just the standard mini gloss pack you get from B&Q for £1.99 type thing?

Thanks! I am well pleased with the results so far.

I might wet and dry it eventually, but not really bothered for now.. It looks plenty good enough..

Any gloss rollers (high density foam) will do, I have just been throwing the trays and rollers away when I have finished with them, they were about a fiver for a pack of five rollers and the trays are about 90p each from Wilko's. I also bought a pack of foam paint brushes.

I bought a 2.5L tin of paint, two thirds of the van has had one coat, I reckon there's just under 2L of paint left. You thin the paint with about 10% white spirit. Its amazing how far it goes.

Some people put two or three coats on, sanding between coats. I have got so much paint left that I am gonna leave it as is and see how it goes, its easy enough to do a bit more at a time (or repair), and there are so many seams to blend into on the T25 that it would be really easy to do.

You definitely need two people when painting, one to paint, one to follow looking for runs, as long as you get it on even it flats itself. The painting is the easy bit, its the prep work that takes the most time...

Is it a T25 your planning on doing?

No my Corrado!

Its the prep I'm afraid of..... I doubt it will be for a while anyway, its my daily atm til the missus is driving again. Its not gonna make much difference even if I cock it up to what the car is worth anyway tbh, so may as well give it a go.

There's no reason why not, most of the work I have had to do is because the van was full of dents and had been hand painted badly in the past, so I have had to get that flat before painting.
