Hey there

Recently iv just bought myself a black 3 door 1.8t, its defo had a remap, HKS dump valve, 3" downpipe, etc.

i was just wondering without spending extreme amounts how could i possibly gain bhp from mods? i believe its running approx 200bhp? but i need clarification on that on a rolling road,

maybe.... scorpion cat back? stage 2 remap? if so how much are they? any other possiblities?

id like some audi tt comps on my golf, think they will look quite good?

any help would be much appricated,
iam located in lancashire so if anyone knows anybody selling decent mods et me know? or cheap comapnies which specialise in tuning

As above, it's pointless running a 3"dp if you've got the standard cat back system. Definitely get rid of the dump valve, a Forge 007p will be much better.

I'd make sure that the engine is in good health before chasing more power, then I'd sort the exhaust and d/v. From then onwards it depends how deep your pockets are, if you're running a KO3 turbo then upgrading to a KO3s would be a relatively cheap way to gain a little power.

if you are running a k03 turbo and say its 200bhp you are pretty much at the limit to what they will go to and as dom as said a k03s would be worth upgrading to to see figures around 220-230 depending on engine and supporting mods

cheers guys,

the car is on a W reg,

yeh i was considering getting rid of the HKS valve, too bloody loud, engine seems in pretty good health to be quite fair,

no sorry its a magnex exhaust just gone and checked then, so the 3" dp is ok, how much are the ko3s turbos any idea?

going for a service very shortly so then i can possibly start to think about more bhp, running pretty strong to be honest, surprises a few people, just my first petrol golf so i would lke a guide to where i can go from here?

:)

Just emailed a guy which has a ko3s turbo, £160 + postage, came off his seat, what you think? That a good price?

What exhaust would you boys recommend?

Anyone know if anyone has any Audi tt comps for sale?
