Mk3 lowering question
« on: 13 May 2012, 18:26 »
I've had a good search and didnt find my answer ,
I've got a mk3 1.8 SE , I want to lower it, are all mk3's running the same springs and shocks so I can just get a kit of eBay ? Only asked because it looks lower than my 1.4 and didn't know if it had some sort of gti suspension or if there all the same , may be me being stupid ! But thought id ask

Thanks guys

Disagree with the above. If you're going for coilovers yes any should do however if you are going for shocks and springs as you stated above you need to get some specific to your engine due to weight differences. I.e. a vr6 will sit lower than a 1.8 on the same springs due to weighing more.

no one has mentioned the difference between early and late cars though....

early 95 and before use larger diameter springs and may need new spring cups to fit
