problem with Golf...
« on: 11 May 2012, 17:32 »
Hi I am new to this site and have bought a Golf GTI 1.8 T, 2001.

Having had the car not that long Ive encountered a few problems with it.

the main one being on start up the car stays idle for anout 10 seconds before the idling turns really rough and then cuts out. At this point I had thought it might be the Air flow meter, so unplugged it and noticed the engine running was completely fine. So having thought that this must be a simple Air flow meter problem, I had bought a new one and fitted it in, and as soon as i plugged it in, the problem was back.

Now i am completely baffled. I would just like to know if anyone has had a similar problem or know what the problem could be before i get the assistance of vagcom, as the engine light and traction light is now on.
any help would be much apprecitaed
