Cheers for the comments guys, yeah I will freehand over the top of it all once its done.  Have to finish it by sunday afternoon and my full time job is doing my head in!  Just got a GTi Anni 1996 just yesterday but as it is a limited edition I don't really want to airbrush on it but if anyone has any ideas I might be tempted! catch ya later. still in progress. loads to do yet. but just a quick look at the mo.
you cant really notice but alot of the bits you see you think are painted are still masked up so will change alot from this.

bit more done now. still loads to go. bit of light glare on bottom left thats not how its painted its the light in the pic
by the way the cogs and some parts are ment to look old and not perfect shape 
the blke want it to reprisent industry over the ages from old wooden typr works to modurn ish meterials. its ment to be a kind of water pumping plant ish type deal 
on one side of the tank will have a big piston drawing water into it and on the other side the same pushing water out of it. its hard to explain

all the masking off and time to do all the free hand stuff
pictures wont really do it justice as you cant really see all the fine details. like the cracks in the clock face and the wood grain and stuff.
