Is the sump the lowest point under the car?

Is that what scrapes the square speed bumps?

Yeah I've upgrated to the shallow steel sump. Quite inpressed with the kit i got from awesome, not too hard to fit ether. Having a sump gaurd isnt really going to protect your sump. If you hit it hard its still gonna take some impact.

How much extra clearance does this give you?

Quite intrested in one of these myself. Do these sumps fit the oil level sensor? Or do you loose that option once its installed then have to code the sensor out via VagCom?

Only slightly more clearance about an inch, But most importantly the bottom is made of steel rather than aluminium.

You can get another version that has a fitting for the oil level sensor but don't seem to be able to find it.

Willis - How do you take square speed bumps?

Does your new sump ever catch them?
