Crank regrinds
« on: 06 May 2012, 17:06 »
Hi

I currently have a crank getting reground at a local machinists.

Does anyone know where i can get the oversized bearings from?  I was speaking to a lad today and he said i would need OE rod bearings as they only do one size for the crank.

Im not sure which part is getting redone whether its the crank to block or crank to rods part.

Can anyone enlighten me what happens?

Chris

you want UNDERSIZE  bearings  -.10  -.20  should be easy found

mains are block to cranck

big ends are crank to rod
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Been a long time since I had one done but the engineering shop got mine - all the right size. Worth an ask.
