I have a mk2 golf gti with big bumpers etc. I am wanting to colour code all of the bumpers, arches and sills where it has a black "dimpled" rough feel to so that my car is fully colour coded and matches the rest of my car. I have been told a few ways to do it e.g.

lightly Sand off the non-grease surface of the area been sprayed and use filler spray, smooth off and spray.
or sand off completely all of the "dimpled effect" and spray.(seems quite a bit of work)

I dont want to rush into it and cock it up,so anyone who has any tips or experience and could help me, it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Braders

i did mine and either way takes a while, but i found rubbing back the plastic a bit first, to get the worst of the dimples out notonly is quicker it'll save you in filler primer as it doesn't go too far, being so think. i've done my whole lot and done a few bumpers and as long as you take your time it should be fine.

as with all paint work, there are no short cuts so don't go looking for them!! the preperation will pay off when you come to paint them.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post
