Anyone used Celtic Tuning for a remap ?
« on: 04 May 2012, 19:54 »
Celtic Tuning promising 265bhp for a remap on my mk5 gti for only £313 done at my home,
used this company a couple of years ago for my civic 2.2 diesel and the car ran like a dream.

Anyone had any experience with this company for their golf ?

We can tune it for less than that at your home (UK Mainland) and yes i'm familiar with them.  If you've come from a Civic, then you'll know who we are.  Just check on Civinfo ;)

You not going to get 265bhp safe from a stage1 remap on its own, with full turbo back exhaust maybe 255 on stage1.

After doing some research, ive decided not to bother with Celtic and make the 100 mile trip to see you at R-Tech

Im going to order a full exaust this week, is this something you guys can fit up there ?
What are your opinions on the Blue Flame system as the group buy price at £675 with high flow cat is amazing
and lastly, I would normally opt for the 100 cell cat but the chap at Blueflame said 200 cell might be best as mine is '08
reg and the 100 cell may cause a problem with emission tests come MOT time ?

Amazing aint the word dude!!!  £675 for a full system is the deal of the year so far.  The only thing I dont like about the Blueflame systems is the U clamps the use which crush the pipes... but I am fussy with exhausts.

The emssion control on the TFSI is very good, so with a quality 200cell cat you will be fine for MOT, even a 100cell but as it gets old it may fail a mot. the 100cell will give better power results but only a few bhp in the midrange and maybe 8-9bhp on the peak on its own merits.

I am sure if you bring some snacks and goodies on the day we can get the exhaust fitted at no extra cost..

Nick

Ive used Celtic tuning on my mk4, plug and play thing, they say they can take it to 213bhp, I have to say the power is impressive from 150bhp feels like a snail.  Ive had the tune over a year, with better fuel economy too.
