Wasn't a huge fan of hip-hop back then but still enjoyed some like:

Cypress Hill
Wu-Tang Clan
Busta Rhymes
Eminem

Though my main preferences in music back then was split between rock, metal, trance and house

WTF:

Gang Starr
KRS One
Main Source
Masta Ace (Seeig him tonight at Band on the Wall MCR!!!)
Public Enemy

But could easily include Rakim, Nas, BIG, Del Th Funky Homosapien, leaders o The New School, Pharcyde, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, MF Doom,

All endured and continued putting out proper hip hop.

And post 2000 it's all about Mos Def, The Roots, Kev Brown, Grap Luva, Talib Kweli, Common (Sense), The Lab Rats, Sound Providers, Ugly Duckling, Roots Manuva, Phi Lyf Chipher, and the list goes on. Plenty of good new stuff. Jus not in the charts
