I like it and think it will sell, there appeared to be plenty of MK1 GTI cabrio's sold in the late eighties.  My wife had an Eos 2.0 TFSI for a couple of years and if the Golf GTI cabrio is as good as that it will be a great car. However I wouldn't swap it for my ED35.
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

the can't sell the standard golf cabrio for move nor money so i know.. lets stick 5-10k on the asking price and it will sell!

I've been seeing quite a few of the standard cabrios around Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Surrey. It's roughly £4K more than a basic GTI and personally I'd choose an Ed35 or R, but there are plenty out there who will buy one.

Without the sales and marketing, there'd just be a load of engineers sitting around with good ideas and no money

Sorry - Aldi TT Roadster starts at £29k. I looked up the Coupe by mistake.

Still cheaper though.

And a 2 seater.
The Aldi A3 may be cheaper...but it's frumpy and has none of the visual styling of the Golf GTI.

I'm sure it'll sell.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

You'd be pissed spending 30k on one and the UK as normal having a wet summer!

I think it'll sell. I've seen a good number of Golf cabriolet's around where I live (about 5 or 6 so far) which isn't too bad at all I think. It's more than I saw of Golf GTI's within a similar time period from release. My qualification however is that I don't think the GTI version will necessarily sell that well. Anyone who wants a convertible Golf will probably be happy with one of the 1.4 TSI options or go for a diesel under a company car scheme.

I think it's a very desirable car however. It's main rival has got to be the TT which I imagine - despite GTI spec - will still be a bit better to drive however as has been said the TT will lose out on the practicality front.

It could have been worse. Imagine a convertible R?

Nice car, would be nicer in something thats not red.
I'd pay £30k, but then again, I'm not a whiney b!tch with no money.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.
