Job hunting!!
« on: 01 May 2012, 14:41 »
hi dub fans

i was wondering if anyone knows any ways of getting into the motorsport mechanics, tuning and performance industry?

i have always had a passion for cars and engineering and have done plenty of modifiactions to my golf mk3 after looking through this forum and plenty of other off topic chat! if anyone had a garage in the bucks/london area looking for an apprentice or knows of any other ways into the industry it would be very much appreciated.

many thanks
tom

Calm down Little Miss Menstrual, seems like a genuine question. I've seen worse in the off-topic section.

Sorry about that mate, been a long day!

Have you enrolled or registered on a college course or similar? Your in the right part of the country anyway to start looking.

Best path is probably trying to get yourself an apprenticeship, you would more than likely have to start in a normal garage to learn your trade and work up from there.

There is a lot of members on here who are big into motorsports who might point you in the right direction.

Good luck and all the best.

Physics and Maths A-levels, followed by 4 years at Uni on a Motorsports degree course. You have 8 GCSE's so there must be somthing rattling around your head.

The entire world is a Money Pit, you just have to pick yours.

my advice would be go to as many garages in your area  and show them what ya got always better imo to go face to face rather than piss about with calls etc

good luck

good idea about going down to the local garages and showing them what i can do, hopefully put me in a good position rather than teaching some rat how a spanner works!!

What is that meant to mean?
