Traditionally Quattro was permanent 50/50 (I think) 4WD system

Haldex splits the drive to whatever wheel is deemed to need it by the ECU

quattro is permanent 4x4  haldex basically engages 4x4 when you lose traction etc

Get a cheap A3 1.8T quattro if that's what you want.

Maybe not the best example but you get the idea.

Yohan has done it (http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/420434.aspx)

However, what troubles are you actually having with yours spinning? I run about 330-350bhp in mine and have no real wheel spin issues unless its really icey. Maybe better tyres and an LSD would be a cheaper, quicker, easier option? Or a slightly gentler right foot?
