LED rear lights retrofit what coding are people using?

I have Xenon front lights(the non LED DRL ones) and retrofit R rear LED lights on a UK Right hand drive car.

I currently use byte 18 coding 04 as shown in SteveP's retrofit guide but i noticed this morning that my front sidelights are very dim.

I think countrytruckers were like that and I changed his coding to 15 which brought the side lights up to full brightness again.

According to information I got from the Vortex forum, you should use a value of 43 at byte 18 with xenons, 15 is the coding for halogen lights

Was that for a left hand drive or right hand drive car? Im guessing the coding maybe different depending on what side the fog light / reversing light is on, or maybe not?

I used 15 as recommended (I have halogen lights) and everything worked fine, foglight and reversing light. Before the DRL would only illuminate if I had the lights switched on (sidelights or headlights) and the sidelights were dim.

I use 15...and everything works as it should.
I've not tried 43 though.

Purchase the Kufatech Diagnostic box, and don't bother with vagcom and coding. I used this tool after retrofitting the golf R rear led lights, it removed the errors on the dash and everything is working as they should be. Mine is 2011 TSI model with halogen headlights. It works for the xenon headlights too.
Ignore the description where it says LHD only. Its BS, it worked on my car!

My car is registered Mar '10 with Halogen lights and planning on using a value of 15 (0010101) in Byte 18, hopefully this will work.

Read loads of threads and found a you tube video which references SteveP which recommends the same coding;

Hopefully all will go to plan on Saturday :cool:

Not sure why the old threads been bumped.
I currently use byte 18 set to 15.
You have to manual edit it though.  VCDS doesnt have that option. You have to identify it in the coding and edit it manual before saving.
Dana at ross tech helped me identify the correct code for my car with it having xenons, RHD,  an oddball of software and bmc versions..
