As a Welshman I have not feelings on this matter, but a glance at Roy's Wikipedia entry, and stats shows that he is far more qualified than Harry. I know statistics ins't the be all when selecting the England manager, but it's a big bonus in his favour.

"Hodgson, who has managed sixteen different teams in eight countries, guided the Switzerland national team to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup and qualification for Euro 1996; Switzerland had not qualified for a major tournament since the 1960s. From 2006 to 2007, he managed the Finland national team, guiding them to their highest ever FIFA ranking of 33rd place, and coming close to qualifying for a major tournament for the first time in the nation's history.

He has been the beaten finalist in the UEFA Cup and the Europa League. Hodgson has also coached many notable club sides, including Halmstads BK, Internazionale, Blackburn Rovers, Grasshoppers, FC Copenhagen, Udinese, Viking, Fulham and Liverpool. Hodgson has served several times as a member of UEFA's technical study group at the European Championships, and he was also a member of the FIFA technical study group at the 2006 World Cup.[1] Hodgson speaks five languages and has also worked as a television pundit in several of the countries in which he has coached.[2]"

Hodgson has been a Manager/coach at loads of clubs/nations but has won nowt and most have been small clubs/nations and when he has ventured to a big club he has flopped. Harry has won trophies with small clubs and turned around Spurs who are a large club. He has turned players careers around and done some great things. Having met Harry before he is such a gentleman and deservea a crack at the biggest job in English football.

thats the fa for you... a little like hodgson, consistently sh1te.

As for Woys career so far, the reason he has managed so many clubs is

1 he has been around for ages
2 he keeps getting 'moved on'
3 he doesnt command big wages
4 he does exactly as the owners want
5 he plays down the teams chances so much that even a loss is celebrated

thats the kind of negative cnut this guy is. perfect for the england job..... they deserve each other.

...and finally when results go the way everyone expects them to maybe we can finally see that the fa are not up to the job!!

They need to go out there and get the best man for the job, be it rafa, jose, pep, ANYONE who actually has a record of winning stuff!

Roy Hodgson did not get a fair go at the liverpool job, and the time he was there the club was in civil war..

Nothing supprises me with the FA. 99% of people want Redknap so they go and appoint Hodgson.

Its bizzare to say the least...... Get ready for Steve McLaren Mk2 (aka wally with the brolly)

All the best though Roy, I hope you can make a success of the England job. To be fair his going a good job at WBA however I preffered what he was doing with Liverpool

Roy Hodgson did not get a fair go at the liverpool job, and the time he was there the club was in civil war..

He got more than a fair go... in the end it was his stupid tactics and the way he spoke to the press. Always revealing tactics before the match, and generally playing for a draw away from home, yet getting beat.

In 6 seasons as a premier league manager he recorded 13 away wins. You dont need to be a genius to know that 2 wins a season is not good enough for ANY team, let along one which was pushing for top 4 finish.

Thats 13 wins from a possible 82 fixtures! He is a mid table team manager at absolute best. He only works as a manager when the players and supporters of a club feel there isnt really any other option. WBrom should see this as a blessing in disguise.... you WOULD have gone down next season without a doubt!
