car wont start checked power up to coil connection is 3 pin from left to right earth,ignition earth,and live is this correct if so there is no power coming out of the coil i have tested it with a tester do you know of any other way to test it if not does this mean the coil is knacked if so how much would it cost me to buy a new one for a 93 cl 1.4

yep it's the coil. new ones are around £40 -50. clean both ends of the earth strap and its mounting points when you put your new one on. :wink:

When my coil went i replaced it off a skoda felicia from a scrappy, cost me a fiver, and is still working fine 15 months later :grin:

i replaced the old coil with a band new one the car ran for about 2 Min's and the car cut out while i was revving it and now it wont start i have have got the same problem as before any other ideas

have you tested for a spark at the plugs?

yes there isn't any power coming out of the coil it seems to be dead Even though its brand new but it did work but then it cut out while i was revving it and wont start

I know this may sound daft, but have you got power going into the coil?

If so its the coil, it may be a dodgy coil, even new parts can be broke lol

You need a multimeter / 12volt circuit tester, if there is power coming in via the live feed and nothing coming out of the coil then the coil is dead.
