I'm about £5k a year on petrol... but I bought a GTI for one reason. To drive it! I know I could save money by getting a diesel or by cutting down my mileage (or by simply not using the power) but I absolutely love driving the car so I don't grudge what I spend on it. My car is my one big passion and it's also my daily transport so I'd rather be paying for something I love than paying less for something I don't.

I don't want to work it out but no one has included depreciation...some very cheap cars so won't apply for some...expensive bits of kit...we all have a choice so could buy a 1L car for little money but I know I'd be miserable driving it so I'll stick with my Cupra r..

I didn't mean to cause upset and dismay my friend...Chin up. Atleast you are a cooler cat than 90% of other road users in a quicker than a quick thing mk4

But I am going to seriously curb my addiction to modding as of immediately.

I kept a record for my Golf but haven't really done one for the Aldi

It goes something like this off the top of my head

Car:                       £15K
Remap:                   £200.00
Rear lights:              £350.00
Wheels:                  £250.00
Dension:                 £120.00
New headlight bulbs: £40
Interior LED's:          £40
Servicing - under      £250 in 20 months - that's two services and a set of brake pads
Tax:                       £165.00 a year
Insurance:               £500 per year
New injectors:          FOC - thank you Audi
Carbon wrapping bits:£35.00
Headlight tint:          £40.00
Fuel:                      Dare not add it up

Probably missed out a few things but I haven't spent no where near as much on this car as the Golf
