MOT questions !?!?!? I'm a tester

I've seen a couple of threads on here about questions for MOT any questions u have I will answer the best I can with a pic of the online manual to back up my info pls allow me time to upload my pics at night I've been a dubber and a tester for 10 years plus now and I'm a MOT manager of Gilbeys autos in st Anne's any questions feel free to ask

Hi mate, do chassis notchs past if correctll welded?

yeah aslong as the notch is fully seam welded and not over the top if it's ott they can fail it on being deliberately modified to the point it weakens the vehicles structure but seam welded and underseaed it will be fine make sure they do a good job

Mk4... exhaust bracket from middle section broken = fail?

Nope as Long as the exhaust system is adequately supported ie likely to fall off !!! Any tester that do fail them are bad testers !!!

Okie doke, I'm saving for a Milltek system but MOT is due before I'll have funds ready, exhaust is secure with no leaks at present.

Nope as Long as the exhaust system is adequately supported ie likely to fall off !!! Any tester that do fail them are bad testers !!!

Mine failed as I my bracket was broken...The MOT tester just jubilee clipped it to the bracket and just told me afterwards.

Seems to me that is a lot of disparity between MOT testers nolandub!

It's all due to alot of changes that happen in the manual one minute it's a fail the next it's not it did used to be an exhaust rubber or hanger missing or broken that was a fail then then changed it to an exhaust system not adequately supported hence likely to fall off the MOT is black and white it's up to the tester to keep ontop of his knowledge of the manual if he dosent then he shouldn't be an NT I'm a QC and MOT manager and i always make sure I keep my knowledge of the book up as to be the best tester I can I sound like a twit tester but i simple try and keep as good at my job as I can
