tdi tuning
« on: 05 June 2005, 11:49 »
hi all

I have a mk 4 golf gt tdi 130 bhp 02 plate, and was wondering what options there are for tuning this model.

Has anyone tuned their tdi before, with what, and what kind of power gains were made.

Any mods please let me no no matter how small or how big.

cheers

The revo remap will take it up to about 180/190bhp

Here, check out Revo: http://revotechnik.com/products/softwareProduct.aspx?pvID=167

Their standard map for the PD130 should yield a minimum of 170bhp. Figure more if you add a decent exhaust and airfilter. Map cost is £499 + VAT.

Bare in mind its likely your car will be developing more than 130bhp anyway - my PD 150 was rolling roaded at 186bhp at our last RR day.

I found two downsides to owning one:

1) The noise
2) The fact they don't like to rev - you can't beat 7000rpm!!

Other than that, I loved my PD

I love mine. The engine noise is sh!t but the Turbo spool and EGR Valve noise more than makes up for it.
