itll be like having a blown head gasket. pends where its cracked really. oil in water or vice versa, mayo under the oil cap, over pressurised coolant system, rock hard cooland pipes, blowing coolant out the overflow, heater going cold when you get your toe down, making air locjs in the system
whats happening with urs?

he had a pressure text and it came back fine.

he gets air locks and like you said, when he gives it the boot the heaters blow cold. I reckon it could either be water pump or cracked head.

do u mean a compression test? do the coolant pipes go very hard after a longish run? also does a bit of coolant over a few days? mine does this, also the temp gauge rises when i floor it but comes bk to normal after a minute or so.i really do think its the head gasket thats gone between compression and a water jacket which would overpressurise the system and spit it out the overflow. also look around behind the headlight for wet patches

had similar prob on 150PD for sometime mate, coolant loss pint/100 miles, all hoses replaced, stat, header. Water clean, oil clean too, 25K engine so i may have big probs too, also running rough. No sign of coolant seepage anywhere unfortunately, heater works fine

Tuesday she is having the Allard egr delete kit fitted and more examination on hard to reach coolant pipes. Will let u know outcome. if no good its head off.

Any recommendations on replacement engines/heads folks? Mine is engines direct, ran well for 20K or so till daughter ragged it on the A30. Might try a specialist builder this time.
