vacuum fittings...should they be barbed??

just wondering as i found some old fish tank hosing and fittings but the tee isnt barbed and i got to use it for a boost gauge....... will what i got be ok??


2000 GTI 1.8t ARZ, S2000 filter, DSG intake, Forge 007 dv, Catch can, R-tech custom remap, 3" Supersize Silicone TIP, Powerflex dog bone, 'The Beast' FMIC, Ultimate delete, LCR fuel pump, 3" Turbo back, K03 hybrid, Ported Manifold, S3 injectors, 80mm maf = 280bhp 270lbft :evil:

I'd get a barbed one, halfrauds sell em for a quid or so. You wouldn't want it popping off all the time!

dont think it will pop off tbh as its a vacuum(sucks the pipe).

As long as its a tight fit and you put a cable tie round it you should be fine  :smiley:

its under pressure when on boost!!!!

will give it a go if it comes off ill get a proper one!!!

I know diesels are right? I thought it was the other way for the 1.8T...Oh well, you learn something new everyday. :smiley:
