It is not a fail I am a tester HOLM0095 is my I'd if u want to check with vosa there is no specific RFR on the vosa computer that u can pick for a tyre poking through the arches it falls under construction and use which is the police in fact il specifically start a thread for people that need to know more about an MOT ud be amazed with what isn't and what is illegal and this tester discretion no such thing it's a list of rules u must follow not make up urself il take a pic of the page on the vosa computer today of the rules of road wheels and Tyres And upload it asap

The point I'm trying to make is why should you if you SHOULDN'T have to as there is no illegality in having wheel spacers...See where I'm coming from?

theres no dispute on the legality of spacers, however the wheel stick past the arch can be classed as a dangerous modification, by mot tester AND the police! if they want to be strict

The police are a different matter. But if X MOT tester feels it unsafe compared to Y MOT tester then surely one of them wrong. If a wheel 'pokes' due to spacers it should either be dangerous or not to ANY MOT tester.

Totally agree with you mate. It's the same for exhaust volume, what one MOT tester would fail another will happily pass
