Golf 1.4 Match Standard Exhaust Pipe Diameter? Fit 3" Backbox.

Hi,

Basically, I'm an exhaust noob. I was wondering if anyone knows what the measurements are for the exhaust pipe for a 1.4 Golf?
I'm looking at getting a new Powerflow backbox, but the diameter of that is 3". So that means I'll need to get an exhaust pipe reducer to fit on. Just wondering if anyone has got any ideas at all?

But to make it simpler, will this backbox fit a Mk4 Golf?

If it was fitted to a Fiesta then the hangers will be in the wrong place for a golf.

If it was fitted to a Fiesta then the hangers will be in the wrong place for a golf.

I know it was fitted to a Fiesta, but someone told me it was possible to modify it slightly (weld/put new hangers in). But was wondering if something like this 'would' fit a 1.4 MK4 Golf?
