Streaky Mk3 Spoiler *Updated Pictures*
« on: 24 April 2012, 19:01 »
My spoiler has been like this since I bought it and I now need to do something about it. I have tried Kiwi shoe polish, Autoglym bumper care and some other back to black type products and whilst they make it darker none remove the streaks.

Was thinking maybe a light sand just to take the top layer off but a bit wary of this. Or the heat gun method but still not sure if this will remove the streaks.

Any ideas welcome. Thanks

Not by me. Looking at it I'd say not by anyone else either as it very smooth.

No not tried that but don't think it will work cos tried similar things and helps darken it but doesn't even out the colour.

read this...

http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=91049.msg1455494#msg1455494

although I said I used 00 wire wool after trying that awful 'back to black' stuff I think now I might try a VERY light wet sanding with either 2500 or 3000

either way.. try a small sample first.. in an inconspicuous area. C4 really is the only way to go for me. see the rest of the black trim thread I linked to for more ideas.

No, total unrelated to the subject, just posted this in the last place that she posted, hoping that she'd see and reply. Didn't even read what she wrote lol
