have just bought 2 canoes and dont want to spend big on bars as chances are the kids will loose interest after a few goes :/

They're okay, trapped the plastic buckle in the door though and chipped a bit of the paint but more me being careless.. just get an old duvet, does the same job ;)

No no no no no wast of time you can get a set of roof bars for cheaper than that off e bay and you will get more use out of roof bars.

I was waiting for someone to suggest you just stick your head out the sunroof and use the whole car as a canoe :wink:
