Noob question 101! gear knob related.

How do i change the gear knob? my older cars were either screw on or pull off... i tried this pulling didn't budge it. and when i twisted it it cam off at the bottom so quickly tighten it back up. lol

pretty sure my old one screwed off ( check for litte screws under the knob)  sure it was a 2 min job tho

Mine was a screw off job, nice and easy

gaitor is pulled over the plastic surround gear knob itself just screws off

Standard knob is just threaded on. after market will most likely have three little alan keys under the threaded collar.

yeah think ill have to try the pliers idea. anyone know what i might of unscrewed instead??
