kools, thanks for that, if i do get this it will be my first Turbo, so i know nothing when it comes to what i need to look for when buying a turbo, I have done alittle reading about the mk4 turbos and to look for rust around the arches, check that the key works in the boot and that theres no rust around the lock, look for any water damage on the rear bench due to the a blockage in the rear water jet, and to check that the car boosts at around 3-4k? with no lumpy pickup, and to see if the hoses got any splits etc etc.

Anything else?

Not that badly priced tbh, as posted check when the cambelt / water pump were last replaced, may even be worth seeing if someone close could scan it and see if it has any fault codes stored.

Ok came back from the viewing and I must say the car for the age is lovely, I checked all the above with this car and to be totally fair to the dealer he could not of been more honest with me, I was alittle concerned because the passenger airbag has a small dent in, the dealer didnt know what that was but it looks as if someone in anger has punched it and its a small kunccle dent, nothing major. and im sure
I could get a replacement if I needed to.

I asked about the cambelt & water pump he was honest and told me he doesnt have history onit, however he will make sure that if i want it a new cambelt & water pump will be fitted, with receipts etc. I also noticed that the rear bumper just under the door handle has a small crack in the paintwork (bumper itself is fine) but its not that much of a deal and considdering the state of the paintwok on my focus I cant moan.

Other than that, the car is compelety straight, all paintwork is perfect apart from a small scuff on the bump strip on the front, (which I would take out and have painted.)

Right the drive...
The turbo spoils lovely, no lumpyness, no hesitation, soon as its hitting around 3-3.5k revs you can here that lovely turbo spoiling.
Gearbox is smooth, no crunches and no slips, clutch bites nice and low and does not slip.

I did drive it like abit of an arshole if im honest, but my theory was I needed to know this car is ok, im sure u lot will understand (I made sure she was nice and warm :) ).

I looked under the hood and she looks lovely and clean however 1 poxxy clip was broken on the plastic cover Grrrrrrrrr  :angry:

So....

Bad points
* Only 1 key & the plastic casing for the key needs replacing (£7 from ebay?????)
* Paint on rear bumper under boot handle cracked, scuff on front bump strip, and paintwork behind the front grill peeling.
* Fuel light was on haha!
* Key wouldnt go all the way in the boot.
* No parcel shelf, but I told him I would be having the one from the V5 he has on the forcourt.

Good points
* Seems mecanhically sound.
* Fast.
* Better than my old car.
* Nice paintwork, all fully straight.

Ok so after bugging this guy and speaking with him for a good hour or so, he said if I give him my focus and £500 we will have a deal, but that was before I asked about the cambelt & waterpump, so he said if i give him £600 and my car it will be ready saturday :)

So I left leaving a £200 deposit :D

All AC works, all heaters work, windows etc etc.
