Gear change probs

My Golf is beeing a b!tch again! It is impossible to get it into 1st gear without really forcing it, so pretty much pulling away in 2nd gear.  Before i just had to stick it into 2nd and then run it up into 1st gear and it would go in nicely but now that hardly works and it just feels like something is blocking its path.  Ne ideas folks?

sounds like it just needs adjusting probably out of alignment not 100% as i would have thought 2nd would have the same effect unless it was twisted.
