Shocks and Springs - Prices and advice
« on: 22 April 2012, 14:15 »
Hello all

My 20v 1.8t has just passed its m.o.t needing new front shocks, so i though why not lower is at the same time.

I have seen a set of shocks and lowering springs for £280 (apex, ebay).

Could anyone advise me whether they thinks it is worth investing in adjustable springs or whether apex (or another suggested brand) would be suitable?

And wether ebay will do the trick?

You could pick up a set of FK coilovers for less than that, they'd last you a good while and offer more adjustment,  try ebay or awesome for a price

Unless you looking to slam it then stick with a spring / shock kit much better bet than cheap coilovers.

Springs and shocks are non adjustable. Coilovers are, so you'd have to decide which you want. A cheapo pair of coilies would cost you £200ish, a decent pair £350-400. A good shocks and spring set up about £200-300 quid I'd say, check the classifieds, always loads going in there!
