what a bad day

thought i would cambelt and change the oil filter on the missus 1.6. got all timing smack on filled new oil had slight issue with leak. so sorted that after 3rd attempt. Sign out work yard with alarm company. get onto main road and bang u can see the cars behind me for smoke covered the hole road :angry:

i filled the a17 full of smoke lol. it cleared up now after loads of scratching my head it seems ok will see how it goes

christ knows never had it before it scared the life out of me having to explain to the missus why i blown her car up and then having to let he use mine :grin: some one mentioned pouring oil to quick so it gone past the rings but i dont know

Oil wont go past the rings, unless they are very worn.

Sounds like something has given up.

you would have thought so but it runs spot on now no smoke or using oil. only thing is lacks  power u cant feel it missing in the car but when it ticking over the engine jumping. i changed the plugs and leads so i dont know whether the coil breaking down
