From £500 to £1000 !?!
« on: 21 April 2012, 12:21 »
So its that time again and my insurance is due for renewal. This will mark 9 years of completely claim free driving.

So what happens to my premium, its gone from £500 to £1000. Great.

Every single year, my insurance costs go up, even though, I still live in the same place, I still drive the same car, I still do as little miles, I'm getting older (and wiser) and have never claimed since I got my licence at 17!

Where is the logic.

Insurance now a days is ridiculous, it used to be that for every year you were driving it would go down a bit but now it goes up every year. I have been driving for 12 years and had my own insurance for the last 7 years without a claim. I am paying as much now as I was 7 years ago. The problem is that premiums have increased to such high levels that not everyone can afford to insure their vehicles so they are driving around uninsured and then they have an accident and they are uninsured so the other driver's insurer has to pay out. So what happends then? The insurance premiums go up thus compounding the problem and it continues......to be honest I dont see how it can get any better.

I could go on but not on a public forum.
